Umbral Accord Seal

The Umbral Accord

"The shadow carries what the light forgets."

At the center of the galaxy burns Umbra, a black hole around which the ancient Umbral Ring of slipstream still turns. The Umbral Accord is not an empire and not a single citizenship. It is the treaty among great powers that forbids war against the Ring, sets shared standards, and keeps the lanes of the galaxy from becoming another battlefield.

Three Pillars of the Accord

The treaty does not invent the galaxy. It restrains the one place no great power is allowed to burn.

Umbra & the Ring

Umbra is the black hole at the galactic heart. Around it runs the Umbral Ring, the ancient slipstream network that makes fast travel possible. The Accord is named for Umbra. The Ring is why the Accord exists.

Hard Limits, Soft Peace

Signatories may still wage war on each other. Empires rise and fall under the treaty. What they may not do is attack the Ring itself. Shared standards for currency, time, and related measures ride on that same agreement.

Powers Under the Treaty

Great powers and republics sign. Local polities live and trade in its shadow. Citizenship, law, and daily life belong to those governments, not to the treaty name on this seal.

Story-Driven Roleplay Under the Accord

The Setting

This is a Second Life roleplay community framed by the Umbral Accord, the galactic treaty of Umbra and the Umbral Ring. Major powers still fight. The Ring stays off-limits. Shared standards keep trade and registry language intelligible across the stars.

The Tone

We prioritize long-form, character-driven RP: political intrigue, personal history, faction dynamics, and consequence-bearing choices. Combat exists. It is not the point. The setting rewards players who think in terms of legacy, not just victory.

Where You Live

Daily life sits under a government or civilization: capitals, law, institutions, and citizenship. The Accord is the treaty sky above them. Choose a polity on Governments when you are ready to plant roots.

Where to Begin

Learn the treaty first. Then choose a government or civilization under it.

From Umbra to Treaty

The Accord is young as treaties go, and older than any single empire that signed it. These are the beats that matter for arriving players.

Ancient

Umbra & the Ring

The black hole and the slipstream ring predate living empires. Whoever first charted them, the lanes still turn.

Treaty Age

The Signing

Great powers agree: no war against the Ring. Shared standards for time, currency, and related measures follow.

Ongoing

Wars Between Powers

The Accord does not forbid empires from fighting each other. It forbids them from making the Ring the prize.

Present

Under the Seal

Signatories still contend. The Ring still holds. Governments and civilizations carry daily life beneath the treaty.

The Ring Holds.
Will You Answer the Call?

The Ring holds. The treaty stands. Whatever you are (Psion, soldier, merchant, or wanderer), there is a place for you under the Accord and a government or civilization ready to claim your loyalty.
