Orom is a lush planet almost entirely covered by multiple layers of dense jungle canopy that rise high into the sky above a shadowed understory of twisting roots, swamps, and freshwater lakes. It is believed that Orom once possessed a vast global sea, but over millions of years much of its water became incorporated into a planetary water cycle dominated by its colossal, cloud-piercing trees, which now sustain much of the world's rainfall through continual evaporation and transpiration. Rainstorms, clouds, and fog banks drift among Orom's colossal trees, creating distinct ecological layers from the shadowed forest floor to the thin air of the upper canopy.
